4 Months

Henry is now four months old. Time really does fly and around here and it flies like a bat out of hell.
Check out that hair. This kid can rock a serious faux hawk.

He is quite the chunk and people often mistake him for a six month old. He is somewhere between 15 and 16 pounds. We have his 4 month check-up next week, so we shall see what "percentages" he is in. His cheeks and roly-poly legs are irresistible. Did I mention his big gummy smile? Because it will stop you in your tracks. He will smile at pretty much anyone who comes near him, including his own reflection in the mirror. The best part? He always smiles and laughs for Ollie.

He is one solid little chunk.

He is also a mover and shaker, which makes me a little wary. He started rolling over at three and half months and has now mastered rolling over both directions, from his stomach to his back and back to stomach. He has even done a few rolls in a row, which I guess makes him mobile. Yikes. I pretty much can't leave him any where unless he is confined or strapped in.

He is such a good baby. So happy, a fantastic sleeper, and good nurser. He pretty much just goes with the flow, unless the flow involves his car seat. Which he detests. There is really no rhyme or reason to it. Sometimes he screams bloody murder, sometimes he falls asleep. We just bought Ollie a new "big boy" car seat, so we will be switching Henry to the convertible car seat, which I hope will help.

Our little angel is also a little less than angelic when Mylo tries to hold him in the evening. He will get quite feisty and fussy and then stop almost instantly once I pick him up. Pretty frustrating for both Mylo and myself. He is starting to have a bit more routine to his daytime sleep and we are working on having him sleep in his crib for naps. He has been doing a good job for his morning nap, but the afternoon is a bit more hit and miss.

"Dad, you are embarrassing me."

He has also gained quite a bit of coordination as of late. Instead of just flailing, he is now grabbing and holding on to things, including my hair, clothes, and earrings. He is showing an interest in toys and puts everything in his mouth. This kid can generate some serious slobber. Ollie wasn't big on putting stuff in his mouth or slobbering, so this is all new to me.

Yummy hands. I swear, he can fit the whole thing in there.

He is sitting up supported quite well now too, which is nice because we have been able to start using our Chariot with the baby supporter to go for runs. He also had his first ride sitting in the big boy seat in the Phil and Ted's stroller. He is a good sport about being in both of the strollers, even with Ollie poking and pestering him.

Rocking the stroller, big boy style.

Rolling over? Sitting up? Goodness, Henry. Next thing we know you'll be off to college! What a sweet, sweet boy. Doesn't having an "easy" baby make you want to have another, Bethany???

Oh man, does it ever go fast! He is looking so big. He's just as handsome as his big bro! Don't listen to Celina. Quit while you're ahead! Ha ha ha. :-)
