We made our annual trek down to Neskowin, Oregon for the Blake Family Reunion. The Blake family is Mylo's dad's side of the family and started with Mylo's grandmother, Genevieve, and all her siblings (and their children). We lucked out with great weather this year - it was actually sunny the whole time. We got to catch up with all the cousins, second cousins, aunts, uncles and everyone in between.
We did the usual hike up to Cascade Head and Ollie walked over 2 1/2 miles of the mostly uphill hike. We have decided that Ollie will be able to do pretty much anything in life based on sheer determination. That kid is seriously head-strong.
We got in tons of beach time, on account of all the sunny weather. I borrowed my mom's wetsuit this year, so I actually braved the cold water to do some boogie boarding. The boys were unfazed by the freezing water and Henry just wanted to get wet and eat sand.
After the reunion weekend, we headed to Lincoln City for two nights with Grandpa Blago and Grandma Kristi, where we had even more beach time. We stayed at a house owned by Mylo's former co-worker from Cheney, which was practically brand new and really nice. I squeaked in a run along the beach and we hit up the outlets, where I finally acquired a mustard yellow cardigan, which has been on my wish-list forever.
We meandered up the Coast on Highway 101 on the drive home - hitting up the Tillamook Cheese Factory and taking a detour through Manzanita, which is where we may be having the 2013 Blake Family Reunion. This was our first long trip with the mini-van, which was amazing, even with six of us loaded in it!
