La Push

It feels like a lifetime since my last post.  I closed my eyes and it was suddenly three months later.  Crazy how time flies these days.  Needless to say, I have some serious catching up to do.

For spring break, we headed to the Olympic Peninsula, to La Push and ended up with some fabulous weather for the majority of our trip.   We played at the beach, did a ton of hikes, checked out Forks and the Hoh Rainforest.  Over a period of 3-4 days, Ollie hiked almost 9 miles.  Besides Henry almost taking a header off our second story deck, it was a pretty awesome trip.

The beach in La Push.
Ollie had no fear with the water and ended up falling in and getting soaked.

The enormous driftwood tree on the beach, which the kiddos loved playing in.

Hike to "Third Beach," just outside of La Push.  It was beautiful with great tide pooling.

Cape Alava - Ollie rocked it by hiking the entire 3.1 miles out.

After hiking 3.1 miles out, Ollie was pretty pooped, so I carried Henry and Mylo carried Ollie in the Ergo.  We were totally pushing the 40 lbs. weight limit, but that thing is worth its weight in gold!

And DONE! 6.2 miles with two kids.

The Hoh Rain Forest - actually decent family shot! Hooray.

The boys were loving exploring the nature walks in the park.

Elk sighting - which freaked us out a little bit since there were signs all over the place about "aggressive elk."
So there you have it - Olympic Peninsula in a nutshell.  Totally worth the round-about drive and ferry ride.

That IS a really great family shot of the four of you in the forest. Love it!
