2 Weeks

Oliver is now 2 weeks old. The last 2 weeks have flown by and at the same time it seems like we have had Oliver forever. He is becoming much more alert and is awake more often. He has been showing us fleeting little smiles and making occasionally little happy coos.

We recently watched "The Happiest Baby on the Block" dvd, which teaches you a few techniques to calm a newborn baby. I highly recommend the dvd if you have a new baby, it really works! Ollie has been so much calmer and less fussy since we starting using the techniques.

Oliver had his first doctor's appointment with his pediatrician. Everything looked great and he steadily gaining weight. He is now 9 lbs and getting a bit chubbier. He is in the 50th percentile for weight and 75th for height. We also went on our first walk around the neighborhood in the stroller. Ollie seemed to like it for the most part, but got a little fussy, at which point I turned around and headed back home.

Yesterday Oliver had his first play-date with Makenzie, my friend Erika's little girl. Makenzie is one month older than Oliver and is such a cute little bugger. The play-date consisted mostly of sleeping, but it was great to catch-up with Erika and meet Makenzie.

This shot was just too hilarious and I just had to share it!

Hanging out with mom on the couch.

Oliver was sleeping like this with his little hand held all stretched out.
I think he was practicing his "Thriller" dance.

Asleep in his carseat after his visit to the doctor. Look at the chubby little cheeks!

A little tummy time with dad. Ollie didn't like tummy time too much.

Makenzie and I had such a blast hanging out and we look forward to our next play date. Hopefully they will both be awake next time. Thanks for having us over :)

There is nothing like "kickin' it" with your baby, huh? Sounds like you three are doing just peachy!

Dear Bethany,

Thank you so much for mentioning The Happiest Baby DVD. We are glad to hear it is working so well for you!

Also, do you know about our "Super-Soothing" Sleep Sounds CD? It has specially engineered white noise that can calm crying babies and - when played all night - can instantly boost sleep by 1-3 hours. Dr. Karp recommends it to help sleep for at least the first year (it's so comforting to little kids....like an auditory "teddy bear"). Parents love this CD because it’s super easy to control the volume and wean babies off of (whenever you want), it keeps babies calm on car rides, and helps them sleep when spending the night at grandma's.

Again we thank you for your support! If you have a moment, I would truly appreciate you leaving a short review on Amazon. It really helps new parents to read about the experiences of other parents.

Best wishes,
Suzana
