Henry is 5 months old. We are seriously slacking in the picture taking department for this kid. Poor second child. I scrounged together what I have from the past month and the following seven photos were it (not counting what is on my cell phone). Time to take it up a notch.
Henry really is the happiest, smiliest baby ever. He is such a joy. No matter how crappy your day has been, when this kid smiles at you, there is nothing you can do to resist his charm. He smiles with his whole body - huge grin and flailing limbs.

Speaking of huge, he certainly is that. He is somewhere between 16 and 17 pounds and getting close to 30 inches long. The top of his head was almost at the top of his infant car seat, so we moved him to the rear facing convertible car seat. He is so much happier in the "new" (Ollie's hand-me-down) car seat. He hated the infant seat. Now he can see Ollie and glimmers of the world out the window. He has actually been falling asleep in the car regularly now. That rarely happened in the infant car seat.
He is growing out of his 9 month clothes and starting to move into 12 month clothes. He is already wearing clothes that Ollie wore when he was almost a year old. On a side note, I find it impossible to not compare Ollie and Henry as babies. Not in a competitive way, just by way of comparison. Back to Henry at five months.
He is starting to sit up unassisted. He is still quite wobbly and tippy, so we have been using the Boppy to support him. He also likes to sit in the highchair, as long as he has plenty of toys to entertain him.
His other favorite is the jumperoo thingy. We don't have a good place to put a doorway jumper, so we bought a used stationary jumper. He will happily bounce for quite a while. I got rid of my bumbo seat and exersaucer, because he hated both of them.

He puts everything in his mouth and I mean everything. He loves the Sophie (giraffe on the floor above) and will gnaw on her non-stop. He is also a grabber - hair, earrings, glasses, you name it, he will grab it. I have taken to wearing mostly stud earrings to avoid having stretched ear lobes.
He is an expert roller. He is starting to scoot around on his belly, although he can't get far yet. I don't think crawling will be far off. He wants to be mobile so bad. I on the other hand, don't. We have yet to make our house baby friendly, so I guess I should put that on my "to-do" list. Also on the list, is getting the spare room converted to his room. I initially thought I would just have him share with Ollie after we moved him from our room, but they are both such good sleepers, I don't want to mess with a good thing. So we are going to convert the spare room (sorry, Mom) into Henry's room. My goal is to have it done by the end of October, we'll see.
Speaking of Ollie, Henry loves to watch him run around and be his crazy self. Henry will laugh hysterically when Ollie turns on his charm. It is one of the cutest things I have ever seen. I think (and hope) they will be quite close someday.
