Well, he's three. No longer a toddler, he has moved on to "pre-schooler" status. Sometimes I am shocked at how big he looks. He is turning into a boy. Crazy. We rang in his third year of life with an eventful birthday weekend, complete with tons of presents, cake, and a party. It all started off on Friday at preschool, where Ollie got to bring a special snack. We made some fruit kabobs and the kids loved them. Ollie got a special crown and they sung him several special birthday songs. He loved it.
On Saturday morning we resumed our celebrations (not actually his birthday, but the day of his party), which also happens to be Mylo's and my mom's birthday. We let him dig into his presents early, because I have no patience.
Ollie is pretty obsessed with dinosaurs these days, so he had a bit of a dino themed birthday, including quite a few of his gifts. From us, he got a dino puzzle, dino matching game, dino encyclopedia, dino flap book, the new Bumblebee Boy book, and adventure jeep, complete with dinos.
My mom and I spent the morning making Ollie's cake. He requested a dinosaur cake, so this is what we came up with. It turned out really well, but wasn't the most tasty cake I have ever had. The frosting was super sweet. I won't be using that recipe again.

For Ollie's actual birthday party, we headed to the gymnastics place. In lieu of having 10 plus three year olds at my house, we opted for a party at a different locale and this was what Ollie wanted. He used to got to gymnastic classes here before he started preschool and he loves it.
After the gymnastics, it was cake time. Ollie wore his special crown from preschool and gobbled down his cake with his buddies.

Saturday night we went out to pizza with the extended family and Ollie was gifted another dino book (from Aunt Tiffany and Uncle Jesse), a dino sticker book and a special trip to the Skagit Children's Museum (Grandma Krisit and Blago). Sunday morning (his actual Birthday) we made Ollie some special birthday pancakes with sprinkles. Ollie had a great weekend and it was fun to celebrate with him and see him truly enjoying his special day.

Grandma Wendy came over later to give Ollie his gift - which she has been
waiting to give him for a couple years. Literally.
