We have officially reached the six month mark. I feel like I blinked and arrived here via some sort of high speed time warp. Didn't we just bring him home from the birth center after our whirlwind birth? It makes me a little nostalgic for that little baby stage, which was so very fleeting this time around. I have dubbed Henry a "danger baby," as in, he is so stinking cute that he poses a serious risk/danger to women of a childbearing age because they will inevitably want to procreate upon seeing him.

Apparently, I am a sucker for matching pajamas. Can you blame me?
He continues to be a relatively easy baby. He is usually pretty happy, always smily, and very attentive to everything going on around him, particularly whatever trouble his older brother happens to be getting into. At his six month check-up yesterday (actually 6 months 2 weeks), he was 17 pounds 5 ounces and about 28 inches long (which was the same as 4 months and not very accurate as he was rolling all over the place). Those stats put him in about the 50th percentile for weight and 60th percentile for height.
This kid is a major mover and shaker. He is already quite mobile - rolling and commando crawling all over the place. There is no leaving him unattended. He is so close to crawling (which Ollie didn't do until 8 months). He can almost get his belly off the ground in a push up/cobra pose, but hasn't quite put it all together yet. I am not looking forward to full fledged mobility. I suppose I should start "baby proofing" the house, especially with all these apparently dangerous toddler toys around.

Check out that reach. This kid grabs at anything and everything.
He is also sitting up like a pro. He will still topple from time to time, but will sit and play for quite a while. The other day he toppled headfirst into Ollie's plastic stegosaurus and scratched his head pretty good. I find it hilarious that his first notable injury was via prehistoric toy.

I just couldn't resist a little preview of Henry's Halloween costume. Ollie wanted him to be a lion, so Grandma Sally whipped up this little diddy. Man, she is good.
Here are few photos from a post-bath photoshoot....sorry for the photo overload, but I was feeling guilty that we hadn't taken enough pictures of Henry and decided to up the anty.
We also introduced some solid foods at six months. We started with a little baby oatmeal cereal and sweet potato. He wasn't really too into at first and made some pretty funny faces, but he is getting better at actually keeping the food in his mouth. So far, he has tried sweet potato, carrot, apple, and pear. He has also been gnawing on some barely teething biscuits, which he loves. I feel like he has been teething on and off for most of his lifetime, but with no pearly whites to show for it. His little teeth must just be taking their time to move around in his gums, because we have most certainly been experiencing teething symptoms. At six months, we are definitely ready for Henry to move to his own room. His sleep (which has been mostly fantastic), is starting to revert back to more nursings and wake-ups at night. He is also refusing to sleep in the co-sleeper anymore and wants to be in bed with us (although he sleeps in his crib for his naps). Unfortunately, I sleep horribly with him in our bed. Being a (part-time) working mama, I need my sleep. So, we are converting the spare room to Henry's room for the time being (with the boys sharing Ollie's room once Henry is consistently sleeping through the night). I will be happy to see all the baby crap leave my bedroom and find a new home elsewhere. We will be painting Henry's future room this weekend. Let the sleep training games begin....

Henry is starting to look so much like Ollie! It's crazy! And, I love the matching PJ's...too bad I can't do that with my kids :) I doubt Baker would be a fan of pink :)
