Marching Toward Spring

March is coming towards an end and we are diligently marching towards spring. After a weekend of beautiful sunny weather, Monday came and rained our parade. Sorry, I clearly can't help myself. Despite our family owning a plethora of Goretex and other water repelling fabrics, the dampness of winter starts to wear me down. Every sunny day gets my hopes up that I will soon be able to bust out my sandals and capris, only to have the next 10 days be overcast and soggy.

After living in Bellingham for nearly 13 years (that makes me feel ancient), you would think I would be used to sogginess in general, but alas, I am not. Maybe my children, having been born and raised here, will be adapted to the damp climate of their origin. Ollie already squirms in protest when the sun gets in his eyes on those elusive sunny days, so it is looking hopeful. In the meantime, we are getting outside when we can and having fun inside when the weather dismal. Here is what we have been up to during the month of March...

Backyard nature lessons - the not so elusive urban deer.

Enjoying March snow, while it lasted.

YMCA T-Ball Clinic - First Organized Sport Experience

St. Patty's Day. A little leprechaun left Ollie a shamrock and gold coin
trail to a secret stash of goodies hidden in the cupboard....

Ready for the St. Patty's Day celebrations - 5 mile fun run for mom and dad,
parade with the family and lunch downtown.

The green pancakes and green milk were a huge hit.
Ollie keeps asking for them each morning.

Ollie's hair got ridiculously long. We finally broke down and got him his
fourth real haircut at the salon with Brandy, his stylist.
He refuses to let anyone else cut his hair, including me.

Henry has been "kissing" up a storm. It is really more of a slobbery bite.

The boys having been playing up a storm together, which has been so fun to see.
I am looking forward to more of these types of moments as they get older.

Henry's personality has been really blossoming.

He is a funny little character.

This one is a funny character too. Of course, we already knew that.

We have been building some serious "couch forts."
They are a source of nearly endless entertainment around here.

Last, but not least, Henry is now walking up a storm.

Those Carhart overalls are the cutest! Oh, and the kiddo in them is pretty darling as well:) It isn't looking any more like spring over here on the east side either, hopefully soon though.
