Falling into Fall

Ollie at his fall school pie n' pizza social
In addition to the craziness that is Fall when you have a teacher spouse, our fall has been very full with lots of fall festivities - birthdays (more on that later), Ollie's school social, cider pressing, and the pumpkin patch.  It being his second year at Loving Space Preschool, Ollie has really come into his own at school.  He is much more confident and social with the other kids.  He has finally (took him almost a year) become comfortable going into the "big room" at school, which is louder and more crazy than the "quiet room."  He has also become more adventurous about exploring all the outside areas at school.  It has been really fun to seem him in his element at school and his fall social was no exception - he ran around and made friends with all kinds of kids who he didn't know before.

The Annual Cider Press Party
We coordinated with Blake and Kristi (Mylo's Dad and Stepmom) to have the Annual Cider Press Party out at their place.  It was of course the rainiest day we had after a long stretch of sunshine and now it feels like the rain hasn't let up since then.  Despite the rainy conditions, we had a good time and pressed a whole lot of cider thanks to Mylo's mom and my co-worker who supplied a massive amount of apples.  Our freezer is now stocked with at least 8 gallons of fresh cider.

We headed out to Bellewood Acres for a birthday party, after which we had planned to pick some pumpkins.  It was an absolute downpour, so we skipped the pumpkin patch, but we did brave the tractor "train" ride before calling it a day.  Needless to say it was a pretty damp ride, but the boys didn't seem to mind.  We headed back to Bellewood Acres the following weekend (sans rain) and picked out some pumpkins, apples, and yummy caramel sauce.
