Well, it happened. Ollie turned FOUR. Four seems old. Kid aged. No longer a toddler. A real-deal, bona fide kid. It is kind of freaking me out a little.
Ollie's birthday happened to coincide with the beginning of a trial at work, so it was kind of a hectic morning since I needed to be to work early, but I wanted to make sure we did something special for him. Since my kids both wake up ridiculously early, it worked out that we were able to open presents and have cinnamon rolls (from the tube, working mama here!) with sprinkles.
The evening of his birthday, Ollie got to choose wherever/whatever he wanted for dinner, so McDonalds it was. Both boys enjoyed playing in the kids area and eating nasty McDonalds food.
The weekend following Ollie's actual (midweek) birthday, we celebrated with a Ninja Party in the gym of the school Mylo teaches at. I can't take credit for the adorable ninja decorations, which I bought as printables off of Etsy, but it all made the hostess in me very happy. The party was a success and Ollie had a great time hanging out with his buddies, eating cupcakes, and busting open the pinata.
