Mylo's family has an annual tradition of pressing fresh apple cider. It is one of the highlights of the fall and the resulting fresh apple cider is absolutely delicious! Mylo and his brother Jesse go on apple re-con throughout the neighborhood (with permission of the apple tree owners) to collect enough apples to press to make juice. It takes about 5 gallons of apples to make 1 gallon of juice. We made about 20 gallons of juice this year and I was able to squeeze a couple gallons into my already packed little freezer.
I was supervising operation apple re-con.
Mylo was in charge of feeding the whole apples into the chopping machine.
Blake and Jesse (Mylo's dad and brother) were in charge of the pressing and juice collection.
Eli (Mylo's cousin's son), the official apple cider tester.
Some of the apple cider bounty. Mmmm good!
