First Snow of 2011

We got our first snow of 2011 last night. I absolutely love waking up to blanket of white snow covering everything in sight. It makes me giddy. Snow is even more fun once you have a kiddo to share the winter wonderland with, which was exactly what we did this morning. After a hearty breakfast of pancakes, we headed out to the yard to do some snow shoveling and sledding.

I realize that I haven't posted any pictures of our new house (except Christmas decor) since we moved in, oh, about in September. So here it is, our lovely little tudor. We love, love, love it. Houses covered in snow look so romantic. The front (above), which is along the street, is currently lined with hideously ugly and overgrown shrubs. We plan to (eventually) pull them all out, put in a cute fence (to keep Ollie in), build a natural rock wall (the yard goes downhill), and landscape. Obviously, that will be a lot of work and money, so it won't be happening this summer - hopefully next summer, fingers crossed. The back (below) is off the alley and is where our driveway and deck are. We can't wait to enjoy some summer evenings barbecuing on the deck. We have two lots, so our actual yard is to the right of the house and happens to have a perfect little sledding hill built right in.

View from the deck.

The yard, complete with really big, really old apple tree.

Our little snowman.

Shoveling the driveway.

The dynamic sledding duo.

Hiking back up the "hill."

"Stop taking pictures mama, let's go!"
